Claudia Pearce, a 15 year old juvenile and Gloria Pearce were on Wednesday 25th June 2025 sent to the juvenile and female correctional facility respectively by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 for allegedly sharing intimate image a colleague without her consent.
They were both arraigned before the court on two count charges of sharing and intimate image without consent contrary to section 48(1)(a) of the Cyber Security and Crime Act of 2021 Act of No. 7 of 2021 and posting sexually explicit image without consent contrary to section 48 (1e) of the Cyber Security and Crime Act 2021 Act No 7 of 2021.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons Claudia Pearce and Gloria Pearce, sometimes in April 2025 at No. 5 Malta Street Kossoh Town in Freetown, in the Western Area rural of the Republic of Sierra Leone shared an intimate image or video materials of a depicted person (Mamidi Mansaray) without the consent of the depicted person, whether or not, the internet is to shame, humiliate, frighten or cause the depicted person harm.
The police further alleged on counts two that the accused persons on the same date and place discriminate or post sexually explicit video image materials without the consent of the depicted person whether or not, the intent is to shame, humiliate, frighten or cause the depicted person harm.
The victim was led in evidence by the prosecutor Police Sergeant 9939 Lahai M.
Defense counsel representing the accused persons applied for bail on their behalf but was refused due to the seriousness of the allegations.
They were both well dressed in their respective uniforms. The first accused is 15 years old whiles the second is 20 years old.
Magistrate Jah ordered for the first accused to be taken to the juvenile center whiles the second was sent to the female correctional facility and the matter was adjourned to Friday 27th June 2025 for further hearing.
