Twenty years old Kennie Deen unemployed made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Larceny from person contrary to section 14 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 17th April 2024 at Guard Street Market in Freetown, the accused stole from one Akim Tejan Gibril the sum of five thousand Leones (5,000) property of the said complainant of Akim Tejan Gibril.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.
The prosecutor sergeant 811 Florence M Wilson led three witnesses.
After the file was drawn for ruling, Magistrate Bangura delivered his ruling.
He thought that the assertion by the complainant before the court was that while he was cutting a cow meat, and the accused took from his pocket a plastic bag containing money and went away and this was also confirmed by PW 2.
He therefore sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
