Sahid Delwyn Saccoh, had on Monday 14 April 2025, was referred to the High Court for further trial by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.1.
He was charged for the offences of mutiny and for possession of prohibited drugs.
Saccoh was arraigned before the court on two count charges for failure to give information of a planned mutiny and for being in possession of some prohibited drugs without a lawful authority which is contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
The charge sheet indicated that Saccoh on Thursday 5 September 2024 in Freetown failed to give information about an intended mutiny to overthrow the government of President Julius Maada Bio.
The charge sheet further said that Saccoh on the same day and place was found in possession of a prohibited drugs which are dry leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa (jamba) without lawful authority.
Magistrate Santigie Bangura said the prosecution called six witnesses to testify against the accused person.
He said he had looked at the entire evidence and he is convinced that the accused is fit to stand trial at the High Court.
The accused pleaded for mercy and said that he is innocent of the accusations, adding that he has worked with the former speaker of Parliament Abass Bundu and that he has never fallen into trouble.
He was asked whether he would like to give evidence at the High Court and he responded that he would testify even though he did not have a lawyer to represent him.
Magistrate Santigie Bangura sent him to the High Court without bail.
