One of Jamaica’s popular and descent music producers GLENROY DONALDSON of DONROY MUZIQ formerly known as VIRGO DON PRODUCTION has returns to produce and promote Reggae Muziq to continue his work this time with different style.
Virgo Don Production has returned with his son Savoy Donaldson to continue his work. He started his career when he was between 4- 5-years-old on a promising footing but his desire for speedy success and glory however hit the nag.
This fine producer has been missing in action for 20 years now for many unfortunate and unforgettable reasons. But thank Heavens he is still alive to recount his story.
Twenty years back his journey to success still remains rocky and rugged like the story of Moses in the Holy Bible, who despite his courage to shepherd the children of God to the Promise Land took him a very long period.
What is important though, in spite of the bumpy future, GLENROY DONALDSON believes “we are all here for a purpose” though interestingly the journeys for that purpose are different. He sees himself as a “Man on a Mission.”
It could be recalled that his first big production between 1999 and 2001 was a HEAVYWEIGHT RIDDIM which was built for him by the talented “TEETEMUS” with the assistance of genius Twins of Twins and his group artiste The “HOTSHOT SQUAD.”
With that assistance the producer was able to produce tracks with some of the greatest reggae and dancehall artists like legends King Shango Capleton, Bounty Killer, Mr. Vegas, Lukie D, Anthony B, Determine, Nitty Kutchie, General B and Spice with the song being her very first in the recording studio through the help of HEAVY D, and many more.
Following that maiden production, the enthusiastic producer made a big follow up production the WEALTHY RICH RIDDIM in 2003.
That effort caught the attention of great KING SHANGO CAPLETON who did not hide his feeling but to confess that he sees something special in this young producer. He described him as a visionary armed with an indescribable talent to tap. KING SHANGO CAPLETON once remarked: “GLENROY DONALDSON is a blessing and added value to Jamaican music industry. He was also admired by another artist in the person of King Kalongy Sizzla who the producer refers to as another blessing. In addition to King Shango Capleton, he also has some of the highest respect for two of the great artists Bounty Killer and King Sizzla Kalongy.
Following that short stint, many artists repeatedly worked with him such as Lukie D, Determine, Nitty Kutchie, General B, Monsta Shack Crew, Elephant Man, Harry Todler and many more.
During those memorable years, producer GLENROY DONALDSON was still a rookie producer, but was doing a lot of marvelous great works though were accompanied with some mistakes and errors.
In a bid to revive his gloomy career, Producer Donaldson decided to invest in the public transportation by buying Toyota Coasters which surprisingly seemed to have finally destroyed his musical occupation. His dream has been like a road to hell and back.
After many years of setback, the producer, then decided to find a greener pasture elsewhere and went overseas in 2011 to recoup and continue his musical journey, this time with the aim of becoming professionally trained and certified producer. However, like in the past, the hard working producer’s journey just got even rockier with unscrupulous people stealing his creative works including his 24 Track tapes, DAT and everything from his residence in Duhaney Park.
This unfortunate development devastated him the more like prophet “Job” in the Bible.
Those setbacks however have not in any case dampened the spirit of Producer Donald (2) who has decided to triumphantly like the great American legendary actor Arnold Schwarzenegger return to fulfill his mission which he believes he was sent by God on earth to do.
It is no secret that many artists, family members, and friends dislike the path reggae and dancehall genre is losing its authenticity and have called on producer Donaldson many times to help revive and has finally decided to get back and see if he can help with the commitment and creative mind he has.
Meanwhile, the committed producer knows he cannot do it alone hence, given credence to the maxim: “NO MAN IS AN ISLAND, NO ONE STANDS ALONE” that despite the talent and experience he has he cannot do it all myself and therefore needs team effort. He believes teamwork makes the dream work like faster like MARTIN LUTHER KING and MARCUS GARVEY once said. “Now I am back again after 20 years and this time with the BIRTH of the MANKIND RIDDIM.” Donaldson proudly stated.
He still recalled how King Shango Capleton the visionary saw something in him during those struggling years as a rookie producer but still helped him twice as he was everywhere with his little 4-year-old son SAVOY DONALDSON who is now his assistant producer after picking him up from prep school.
Donaldson through his DONROY MUZIQ has extended his appreciation to the greatest King Shango Capleton for his kindness through the assistance of one of the most loyal mankind on earth ‘JAH THUNDER who he said has blessed for the third time now as a veteran producer.
He has prayed they achieve the highest honor in music through the help of Almighty blessings. It’s a “BEAUTIFUL DAY ‘artist INNER VOICE AND CAPLETON DOWNLOAD AND STREAM ON ALL YOUR FAVORITE PLATFORMS and VIDEO ON YOUTUBE.

On the question how his son got involved in the project, DONALDSON said his son has always been his inspiration from 20 years ago as he used to get him from school when he was between 4 and 5-years-old and have been with him everywhere with Capleton’s place, Sizzla Kolongy, Buju Banton, Richie B, Anchor Recording unto Mixing Lab. Sometimes the little lad doesn’t even get rest. The Producer said he is proud of his son especially now that he is a grown up and expects he is going to serve as a professional adviser to him especially now they are living in a digital world.
In a way to promote his work, the veteran Producer said he has contacted few marketing people in different areas such as SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT, radio DJ’s who genuinely love the productions and have given him their blessings and support, a lot of sound selectors locally and intentionally, few publicists, and importantly a team member Andru Anthony is doing his best for European markets, while few Africans are doing their part four Africa markets.
“The videos are getting ready to be aired on local and international televisions and many well-known broadcasters’ on social Medias,” he added. He said this time around with the help of Almighty God there is prospect of being nominated for the Grammy award by next year.
It is against this backdrop that he has appealed through Donroy Muziq for people to provide the needed support to make our beloved reggae genre proud once again.
