A Sierra Leonean, Alie Mohamed Sankoh, wife Isha Koroma and family who narrowly escaped government life imprisonment or possible death for their involvement on August 10, 2022 country’s civil mass protest lives is said to be in grave danger whenever they are apprehended.

According to credible sources, Alie Mohamed Sankoh and  Isha Koroma  together with family were living at IMATT at SS Camp community in West of Freetown, Sierra Leone, the report went on that the tragic experience suffered by this family was horrific.

Repot went on that on 12th August, 2022, Alie Mohamed Sankoh was arrested as a State offender by a truck-full of police officers at his residence and was locked in a police cell for 13 days,” sources told this medium.

Investigative report uncovered by this medium stated that, Alie Mohamed Sankoh and hosts of his business associates were becoming increasingly frustrated with the SLPP led government for the continuous tax hike since 2018.

This medium further discovered that Alie and many other business magnates have been running at a breakneck loss as they find it extremely difficult to recover their overhead expenditures.

As head of the family (name witheld), was a business man who used to bring in goods to sell, his entire business and households were vandalized by police,” the source added.

A close source narrated to this medium Alie before the sit-down protest that occurred on August 10,2022 in Sierra Leone; was accused by the State of Sierra Leone as one of the organizers ahead of the sit-down strike by citizen between 8th,9th and 10th August, 2022,” the source went on.

After the protest had happened, upon instructions by the State senior authorities, police started arresting many perceived protesters at their homes with help of pro-government spies in communities.

Alie was accused by the State of Sierra Leone of being one of the facilitators of the August 10,2022 protest orchestrated by the famous social media blogger (Adebayor who lives in Netherlands),”  a close source told this medium that Alie was accused to be a fugitive.

During the course of our investigation this medium discovered that Alie, was the one sharing out the white Polo T-shirts to protesters ahead of the strike, but we never knew some of those people were government spies ; it was they who pointed out to the police that Alie, was a group facilitator of the August 10, 2022  protest,” the report explained.

According to credible sources, Alie’s wife Isha Koroma was denied access to her husband several times while he was at police’s cell in central of Freetown.

According to Isha Koroma’s narrative, her husband gave reasons for undertaking the August deadly protests in the country.

“It started as a sit-down protest first lasting for two days between the 8th and 9th of August and onwards August 10th and the protesters took to the streets calling out government’s attention to fix out the rising costs of living, police brutality on innocent civilians, and the lack of freedom of speech”.

A dusk to dawn curfew was imposed by the Government of Sierra Leone in the aftermath of the August 10, 2022 protest and those that machinated the incident were declared as coupist.

Report further informed this medium that arbitrary arrest was executed on perceived protesters as their homes where raided by the Deputy Internal Affairs Minister, Lahai Lawrence Leema. An in-depth investigation carried out by this medium revealed that majority of the protesters apprehended on that fateful were tortured to death while some still remain missing.

Perceived protesters who made narrow escape are still at large fearing the consequences that might befall them as they are accused to have usurp State authority.

Since the departure of Alie, the family now fear to come back home because the State had accused them of committing a treason offense which when found guilty amounts to long term jail sentence or imprisonment.

The whereabouts of the couple is unknown.
