The most respected, fearless and uncompromising bird has been following the operations and activities of the main opposition, the All People’s Congress (APC) party, since 2018 before, during and after the disputed elections.

The bird has noticed a lot of discrepancies and inconsistences in the party by way of making decision of today while at the same time the same decision the party may have made is reversed to the dismay of the members and supporters of the party.

The Wise Bird could recall that, in 2023 the All People’s Congress (APC) party took a decision not to attend Parliamentary sittings because of certain reasons, but not too long, the decision was killed at birth and members took seats in Parliament.

Very recently, the APC as a party suspended its participation in the Tripartite Committee that was set-up to look into the disputed election just few days to the end of the Committee’s mandate. The Secretary General of the party wrote a letter dated 14th June, 2024 suspending its participation from the Committee.

Less than a week another letter was out which was written and signed by the same Secretary General telling the public that, they have resumed participation in the Tripartite Committee.

The Wise Bird became very much confused on how the party is behaving, today the APC is in on something, tomorrow it is out there on another-this shows inconsistences in the party.

An individual or group of people and/ or political party should always stand and stick to its decision and position, not today it says yes, tomorrow it says no.

This is more the reason both the International Community, and the government of Sierra Leone seem not to take the APC seriously.

The fact of the matter is before taking a decision one has to think twice about it, but from the look of things the APC does not think about the expectations of its supporters and members before it takes a decision.

The Wise Bird as usual went out to sound the views of both supporters and non-supporters; there were mixed views as some are in support while others are against.

If only the bird is to quantify the views of people, those against are 75% and those supporting the APC’s decision are 25% meaning the APC did not do the right thing.

According to investigation, conducted by the bird, APC is contemplating to suspend its participation in Parliament if the recommendations do not go in their favour.
