The Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council (WARD-C), Kasho Joseph Holland Cole, has revealed that several prominent figures within the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) are set to be officially expelled from the party during its upcoming 2026 delegate’s conference.
Speaking publicly in the capital Freetown, Chairman Kasho Cole fondly called Father Lion, disclosed that Alfred Peter Conteh, former Chairman of the Interim Governance Transition Committee (IGTC), alongside Hon. Mohamed Bangura and Hon. Alfred Thompson, members of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic, no longer represent the interests of the APC. According to him, ‘their actions have betrayed the principles and values of the party.’

“They would have long been expelled from the party, but our new constitution makes it clear that members can only be expelled at a delegate’s conference. It is only during that process, through proper consultations, that the chairman has the power to take such action,” Kasho explained.

He went further to stress that Alfred Peter Conteh is not recognized as a legitimate member of the APC, despite his public claims. Councillor Cole alleged that Alfred has been avoiding opportunities to engage with other APC members in open discussions, fearing that his real status in the party would be exposed.
The WARD-C Chairman emphasized that the APC is a structured institution guided by rules and regulations. He insisted that any individual found to be in violation of those rules, would be shown the exit door without hesitation. “APC is governed by laws anyone who attempts to break these laws will face the consequences,” he asserted.
Kasho also reaffirmed that the APC leadership remains firmly in the hands of Alhaji Dr. Minkailu Mansaray as National Chairman and Osman Foday Yansaneh as Deputy Chairman, dismissing any contrary claims.
He concluded by noting that the upcoming delegate’s conference will be a decisive moment for the party, as it seeks to strengthen internal discipline and restore unity ahead of the 2026 political calendar.
