The delegation departs for Senegal on 6th September 2023 to compete in the trials for qualification to the Olympic Games in France next year.
According to the Secretary General, Alhaji Komba, he said Boxing Association has created jobs and happiness for Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad through local and international tournaments, adding that the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France will expose more talented boxers.
However, he strongly called on government and donor partners to support the discipline at all levels, though there are endless challenges in terms of per diems for boxers and officials over the years. But, they believe that the forthcoming event in France will be a thing of the past, based on their successful achievements on international competitions over the years.
