The Wise Bird always loves to have first-hand information on issues of national interest.
When the Wise Bird got the news that Bar Association’s election will be held in Kenema, the Wise Bird quickly flew to Kenema to have the full story and see for himself how the election will be conducted.
Before the election there, some of the candidates took the matter to court for the venue to be changed but the matter was thrown out of court.
The Wise Bird, on arrival in Kenema, noticed a lot of abnormalities in the process. One of the candidates had allegedly already booked all the hotels in the Kenema Township by way of preventing others not to have places to sleep.
According to information, the man’s tactic was so because others might have to go as far as Makeni and other places to have sleeping place and in the process the election would be rigged to the advantage of the other candidate.
The Wise Bird again noticed that the programme was quickly changed as planned to disadvantage other members who have gone far off to get a sleeping place, and so by the time they would have come back the election is far gone, and exactly that was what happened according to the investigation the Wise Bird did.
However, before the election, the Wise Bird saw a video clip where the Chief Commissioner and one of the Candidates were dancing in a hall by way of supporting that said tactical candidate, can you imagine?
One senior Lawyer of very long-standing years of experience in the Bar has written a very strong worded letter condemning the outcome of the elections and by extension also condemning in totality the Chief Commissioner saying he has no right to conduct that particular election.
The Wise Bird also saw one of the contenders openly condemning the outcome of the election, pointing out the manner in which it was conducted and the ugly role the police played in the process.
The question the Wise Bird is asking is that why is it that, all elections conducted under the SLPP government are full of controversies?
