Samuel Yajo, a bike rider made his final appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No.2 on one count charge of larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the police charge sheet, the accused on Saturday, 23rd August, 2025, at Hooke Street Junction, Kissy Freetown, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, stole one steel door value two thousand and five hundred leones (Le2,500) property of Mohamed Hassan Kemoh whilst in custody of Adikalie Samura.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa produced and tendered the voluntary caution statement and caution statement marked as exhibits A1-8 and B1-2. He noted that the accused person is a first time offender.
The accused was not legally represented and pleaded with the magistrate to tamper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah stated that the convict being a first time offender and having pleaded for mercy and deprived the complainant of his steel door, sentenced him to serve a term of six months imprisonment or restore the said steel door or its equivalent sum of (Le 2,500) to the complainant or serves the sentence in full.
