Congratulations to members of the Parliamentary Health Committee especially the Chairperson Hon. Bernadette Wuyatta Songa for great and patriotic service to Mama Salone.
Your service, if not all but the recent one to instruct the closure of one of popular diagnostic centers in Freetown, EcoMed deserves undiluted commendation.
That singular act is not only a commitment or dedication to work but importantly a strong display of nationalism, given that it’s in the interest of the entire citizenry of this nation. I say bravo again and Keep on the good work.
According to what the bird gathered, Hon. Songa has expressed frustration over EcoMed’s failure to provide the necessary documentations the committee had requested from them relevant to the latter’s work.
She furious Chairperson disclosed that, the committee sent a letter to EcoMed on 7th February this year which it acknowledged receipt of but deliberately failed to respond on time and that even when they appeared before the committee they did not take the required documents with them.
That situation, according to the information the inquisitive bird has gathered, angered the Committee especially the Chair who was left with no alternative but gave an order to immediately close the facility.
She gave the instruction to the Ministry of Health’s Permanent Secretary to prepare the letter for immediate action and announced plans to personally verify compliance.
Many people have informed the bird that the latest development is a step in the right direction given that they have realized the situation has unearthed the unavailability of essential diagnostic services in Sierra Leone.
The wise bird views the action of Parliament as something in the right direction, because there are several other instructions that are still unproductive despite receiving huge amount of money from the consolidated revenue fund.
To have the nationwide views/opinions on this important development, Bra Parrot tirelessly roved the length and breadth of this country to meet people in their localities.
Most of them the bird contacted said there are many other institutions that are still underperforming at the expense of the state.
The people singled out Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) who they said cannot fill the countless portholes in the city; the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority (SLRSA) for its failure to reduce the number of stationary vehicles permanently parked on the roads without action and many others.
The patriotic bird is therefore urging the government to listen to the concerns of its people to avoid spending unnecessarily for services that are not provided.
