Magistrate Sao Mamakoh Betty Kallon at Pademba Road Court No.3 in Freetown has sentenced Alex Conteh a businessman to two years imprisonment for obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded guilty.
He was asked by the Magistrate whether he had any relative willing to repay the defrauded amount, the accused mentioned his sister.
However, upon being called before the court by Magistrate Sao Mamakoh Betty Kallon, the sister stated that she was “not there to pay the said money.”
