The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Sarjoh Aziz Kamara has bragged in parliament that, by 2028 the Sierra Leone People’s party (SLPP) will set history in Sierra Leone.

Our party will win the 2028 elections in a landslide victory.”

He made the submissions when delivering his declaration of intent for the National Secretary General of the SLPP at the Committee Room One in Parliament.

“I am sure the 2028 general is another big time victory of the party, the great SLPP.

Those who are talking of a regime change, it is not possible.

“The SLPP will win APC hands down for the third term, ” he said.

He buttressed that as SLPP prepares for this next juncture and changing of leadership, they must unite behind a figure who symbolizes dedication and a fervent desire for inclusivity within their party.

He said his reflects the principles of accountability and transparency throughout all areas of his professional and personal life – which are principles that are essential for effective governance.

His ability to mobilize grassroots support and analytical acumen distinguish him as a formidable architect of progress, and one poised to navigate the complexities of their contemporary political challenges ahead of 2028.

He informed the SLPP MPs that he is more than qualified for the role, adding that Aziz-Kamara is prepared to tackle the complexities of governance and party politics head-on.

He maintained that he has mastered leadership and management, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute, UK.

His commitment to the Sierra Leone People’s Party is generational.

And that he is not a recent member and has flown the green flag for his lifetime.

As a university student in 1996, he campaigned for SLPP for a fresh wave of victory and return to power.

During this moment in opposition, he revealed the SLPP was an unattractive name in the diaspora and he was at the vanguard of the movement to ensure that the party was recognized, uplifted and financed to operate as a functional and united opposition.

Sarjoh has always been a champion of running his party affairs, with the incisive ability to bring party loyalists and the grassroots together and inspire an action that reflects “One Country, One People.”

He served as one of the key architects of the SLPP Global Bounce Back Initiative in the aftermath of the 2007 regime change.

In 2008, Sarjoh raised a petition with the British Parliament holding the APC party to account for the attack on the SLPP party office.

He has made significant contributions towards mobilizing membership, fundraising and campaign strategy for return to power.

With Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara, he said their shared goals are prioritized, and systemic change is actively pursued from the grassroots upwards. It is time to embrace a future defined by collaborative achievement and forward progress under his stewardship, as the next Secretary General of one of the oldest political parties in West Africa !

He opined that he is a candidate who believes that handling the administrative role of the Sierra Leone People’s Party is a critical role that goes beyond mere political manoeuvring. Most recently, he served as a co-opted member on the SLPP 2023 election manifesto and communications committees that put together the people’s manifesto of the SLPP.

He also served as the 2023 Elections Zonal Commander in Kailahun District working with party apparatus to ensure a reliable and resounding victory.

Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara is contesting on a solid action plan that will build on the existing administrative framework and revitalize systemic transformation that reflects the cardinal principles of the SLPP.

Over and above all, Sarjoh he is well-equipped to lead the SLPP secretariat and hence recognized for his professionalism, humility, respect, integrity and commitment to the fundamental values of the SLPP.

At this critical moment in the history of the SLPP, he concluded, there is no candidate more fitting and principled than Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara to serve as the National Secretary General of SLPP. His win and vision will lead us to resounding Victory in 2028.

However, members of parliament from the SLPP thanked the Sarjoh Aziz Kamara and promised to throw their support to him.
