This medium has been informed by a community advocating group Charlotte Landowners that they  have headed to a court in Sierra Leone, filing a complaint against  All People’s Congress (APC) party female Member of Parliament, Hon Rev. Adama Conteh.

The people of Charlotte Community have complained that they are faced with lots of embarrassments and violations due to what they perceive as the invasion of their land by Hon Adama Conteh, one William Leigh and the Ministry of Lands officials.

“Hundreds of acres of our land have been sold off. We have been treated like foreigners in our bonafide land property.” The grabbing of our lands has exceeded to the extent that even the lands that we reserve for the building of community schools and markets have been sold off, “Rachael English said.

According to Rachael English, all those that are perpetuating violence and grabbing on their lands are not an indigenes of Charlotte village, adding that they the land grabbers even would hire thugs to victimize them.

She said amidst several complaints and strides to get rid of those alleged land grabbers the grabbers continue to invade in their property.

She singled out Hon Adama Conteh as the person in the habit of always assembling machines in their property land to supposedly destroy structures there.

The MP is doing so with no consultation with the land owning families, Charlotte village victim claimed.

Rachel English described the act as a recipe for chaos and an act of deceit, therefore called for President Julius Maada Bio for immediate intervention.

Speaking to this medium earlier last month, Mr. Denis Valcarcel also spoke on being moved off from the land by those he described as “village foreigners” to push him away and other land owners from their property.

“Our community is like a new barracks wherein everyone who grabs land will employ military officers to guide that land. We get shocking threats almost on a daily basis. But we are not going to relent in seeking justice,” he said

He pointed out that, the Green belt areas preserved by government are now becoming targeted by these land property grabbers.

Valcarcel went further to say the agenda of these invaders is to take ownership of their Charllotte village and make it their own.

He revealed that the community is now seeking legal actions for the pains and suffering inflicted upon them by these inluencial land grabbers.

The APC MP, Hon Adama Conteh has told journalists few months ago that, some Charlotte community stakeholders’ claims against her are false.

She told the media at her residents that, she was only contracted by the Ministry of Lands to give roads to the lands they plotted.

“I am not a citizen of Charlotte Village. Why should I engage myself a in land grabbing affair, this is false and baseless allegations, “she had told the media few days ago.

However, she herself had planned to take legal actions against anyone who bent on tarnishing her hard-earned reputation.

“Charlotte village is not the only community that I have worked for. I have worked in so many areas around the city. Some give me lands, some pay me for doing their work,” Hon Conteh said.
