One Abdulraman Sesay has reportedly got missing in Yele Chiefdom, in the Tonkolili District, northern Sierra Leone.
Abdulraman Sesay’s father Pa Abubakarr Sesay was ones a Paramount Chief Yele Chiefdom and a member of the secret cult society called Poro.
In the tradition, for one to become a Chief he must have gone through secret society initiation and Abdulraman Sesay was initiated at young age.
Abdulraman after his maturity age he came to realize in 2014 that what is happening in the Poro society is unholy.
Sources close to family members informed this medium that after Abdulraman realize the unholy activities he decided not to participate in any unholy activities.
Sources stated that Abdulraman Sesay’s father, Pa Abubakarr Sesay died in 2010 he was chosed to replace his father at the age of 25 in 2022 as Chief and take the responsibility as head of secret society (Poro).
Within that period, Abdulraman met with one Pastor Joshua who persuaded him to abandon unholy activities and dedicate himself to Christ.
According to sources after Abdulraman dedicated himself to Christ through the advise of one Pastor Joshua, he was against approached by some of his family members to be suitable son to replace his late father.
Poro is predominantly being practiced among men in the northern part of the country where young boys even within tender ages are forced to be initiated into the society.
Being the only son of the chief, who is the custodian of the tradition of the village, Abdulraman Sesay is supposed to take the mantle of leadership from his father and automatically becomes one of the leaders of the poro society.
Days later, sources stated that, Abdulraman and some of his sisters went to the farms where he was chased, and manhandled by poro men.
Abdulraman is not the only young man that is facing intimidation in his village, many young men who have acquired western education and refused to be initiated into the poro society, have left the village and currently in constant hiding for fear of being reprimanded by local authorities in that part of the country.
Abdulraman Sesay’s life was under serious threat and he was seriously tortured and tied in the bush.
One Man Pa Abdulai a palm oil tapper later rescued Abdulraman Sesay and took him to his resident where he later sent hiM to one Pa Mohamed at Pamlap and later traveled to the neighboring Guinea.
Neighbors informed this medium that since they last heard about Abdulraman Sesay in Guinea, he is nowhere to be found.
