Mohamed Bangura, Ibrahim Joseph Koroma, Bangalie Kargbo, Mohamed Jalloh, Abdul Samura, Chukwu Charlie, Mohamed Marrah, Ibrahim Jalloh, Morlai Kamara, Isaac Hope and Mohamed Obai Tarawalie made their first appearance before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh of Pademba Road Court No.5 in Freetown on two count charges to wit idle and disorderly behavior contrary to section 7 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 and rouge and vagabond contrary to section 8 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of offence, on Monday 27th October 2025 at Lumley Lorry Terminal Beach Road, Lumley in the western area of Freetown were found idling and in disorderly behavior.
Count two further stated that on the same date and place, the defendants were found Loitering in Lumley lorry terminal beach Road with intent to committed a crime
When the charges were read and explained to the defendants they pleaded guilty
The Prosecutor Sergeant Umu Jalloh 9906 told the Magistrate that fact as charge no previous criminal records against the defendants she produced and tendered the voluntary caution statement and charged statement of all the defendants in court.
Counsel representing the defendants A.R Jalloh made plea mitigation on behalf of all defendants that they have pleaded guilty on both count charges that they have not wasted the court’s time it unfortunate they found themselves in this situation. She pleaded with the Magistrate to tamper Justice with mercy on behalf of the defendants. She also pleaded for a reasonable fine on behalf of the defendants.
Due to the plea mitigation by the defendant’s counsel, Magistrate Gbloh before delivering her judgement, gave advice to the defendants that they should be contributing meaningfully to the state by doing something meaningful for themselves. She also advised them to stop the public gathering as the aim of the law is not to punish or sending young people to prison, insisting their aim is to protect life and properties she minded to cautioned and discharge all defendants and to further admonished them to go back and contributing meaningfully to the society.
