Mark Suliaman Densie who is a major at the Sierra Leone Military and Isata Bella Jalloh were charged to court on private criminal sermons.
They are held for four count charges, one for assault and for occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861, for wounding which is contrary to section 20 of the Offences Against the Persons Act of 1861. For a threatening language contrary to section 3 (ii) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 and for attempting to strangle victim which is contrary to section 21 Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on the 12th November 2024 at Aberdeen the Western area in Freetown in the public view physically and intentionally assaulted Isatu Deen Bangura.
The first complainant causing her injuries including pain on the right jaw and allegedly broken her first correct upper teeth thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
Count two the first accused person on the same date and place maliciously wounded the second complainant.
Count three says the second accused person on the above date and place did make threatening language in public view against the first and second complainant saying “Ah go teach una lesson una wait small en see ah go pepper una all in a manner to provoke them to commit breach of the peace.”
Count four on the above date and place the second accused attempted to strangle the second complainant with intent to render her incapable of resistant.
When the matter was mentioned by the complainant Lawyer S.R Bangura Esq the complainants were present and while the accused persons were absent in court.
The defense counsel applied for bench warrant against the absent accused persons
Magistrate Bangura granted the application and ordered for bench warrant for the accused persons and adjourned the matter to 24th April 2025.
