Residents at New York in Yams Farm, Western Rural District continue to live under threat from criminals as they have changed location from Upper New York to Lower New York .

This latest move has created panic and fear on the locals, since residents are no safer after hours; more especially women who continue to fall as prey at the hands of these criminals.

Their mobile phones , hand bags, and other valuables are often been snatched from them on regular basis.

Residents are no more having free hands to leave their valuables outside, doors are always kept close for fear of breakage by criminals.

A resident who spoke to this reporter on anonymity said, since the arrival of these criminals more especially at schools sporting activities ongoing at Lower New York community playing field ground.

Criminals have been using this opportunity to sneak into residential houses in broad daylight; I am a victim she said.

Drugs such as kush and tramadol are also on the increase which she said is more disheartening for us as parents.

We are therefore calling on the leadership of the police to come to our aid .

These criminals are presently dwelling along the seaside and unfinished buildings at Lower New York.

It is time for action more especially our community is suffering for constant black out putting our community in darkness and total fear.
