Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, one of the leading aspirants for the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) flag bearer position on Friday, 17th October 2025, joined party comrades, Members of Parliament, family members, and sympathisers to sign the book of condolence for the late Hon. Ernest Dura Koroma. The solemn ceremony took place at the state hall in at Parliament Building, Freetown.
The event was marked by deep emotion and reflection, as colleagues and friends paid tribute to the late Hon. Ernest Dura Koroma, described him as a devoted parliamentarian, a selfless public servant and a true patriot who served his people with humility and integrity.
In his brief remarks, Dr. Bangura expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the APC party, noting that Hon. Koroma’s death is a significant loss not only to APC but to Sierra Leone as a whole.
He praised the late lawmaker’s unwavering dedication to national service and his commitment to advancing the interests of his constituents.
“Hon. Dura Koroma was a man of principle and purpose. His contribution to governance and community development will forever be remembered,” Dr. Bangura said.
Hon. Ernest Dura Koroma, until his untimely passing, served as a vibrant member of the sixth Parliament of the second Republic of Sierra Leone under the ticket of the All People’s Congress (APC). Beyond politics, he was known for his strong community engagement and passion for improving the lives of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.
The signing of the book of condolence brought together several key figures within the APC, reaffirming the party’s unity in grief and collective appreciation for Hon. Koroma’s life and service.
As tributes continue to pour in, many remembered him not just as a parliamentarian, but as a compassionate leader whose legacy will inspire future generations within the APC and beyond.
