Thousands of people in the Calaba Town community comprising of school going pupils and all categories of people were in ecstasy recently when the United Council of Imams [UCI] bailed them from one of their old acute problems which have been causing a lot of embarrassment to them.
The newly UC I Headquarters construction site was jam-packed with beneficiaries and dignitaries from all walks of life over the weekend who went to witness the official opening of the pipe burn water supply which is first of its kind in that community.
Mr. Abu Bakarr Jabbie from Direct Aid disclosed that the outfit is a Non-Governmental Islamic origination in the country assisting Sierra Leoneans that are in dire need in diverse ways. He succinctly dilated on the completed water project under the purview of UC I, adding that Direct Aid country Director Haithan F.H Shouman is a very kind man that is always ready to do the needful in line with Islamic principles and he has compassion for humanity.
In his contributions, the Secretary General of the United Council of Imams Alhaji Ibrahim Mans Kanu referred to the gesture as unique, timely and very significant to all and sundry in that community and beyond stressing further that water is life and it has been constructed at a very strategic point that will benefit the general public who are over the years in dire need for pure drinking water especially school pupils who are very closed to the pump, adding that it is a boost to everybody in that environ. On behalf of UC I he extended his profound thanks and appreciation to Direct Aid for their generosity and solicit for continuity of their assistance to this nation in diverse ways.
Imam Sannoh, of the newly erected UC I Mosque who also doubles as supervisor at the construction site of the Head Quarter building also made a very significant contributions and also extended thanks and appreciations to Direct Aid for their great endeavor.
Similar thanks and appreciations were also expressed by UC I Estate Director and the numerous beneficiaries.
