The National Leader of the All People’s Congress party, Ambassador Osman Yansaneh, has urged all Sierra Leoneans not to be panic on the “threatening statements” earlier made by President Julius Maada Bio in Bo town.
“The APC is not prepare for any war but will do so through dialogue and the tripartite will speak to everyone in the coming weeks,” Ambassador Yansaneh made the Submissions during the monthly press conference organized by the APC Parliamentary Group at the APC Secretariat in Freetown.
According to Yansaneh, as party institutions of government that protect the masses are now perpetrators.
“These institutions have been compromised with the government. He said the opposition is a believer of the rule of law and will always believe in working with the law and not by bullet,” he said.
He said the APC will not talk about possible recommendations from the Tripartite Committee about a re-run election and also urged the government not to talk about that, in fact.
“We are going to be very hard like a cotton tree when it comes to enforcing the recommendations from the Tripartite,” Ambassador Yansaneh said.
He condemned the statement of President Julius Maada Bio that” When you bring bullet, you will meet bullet” as unfortunate to have come from him.
He said the opposition and government have earlier chatted off hate speeches as “unduly” adding that a statement from the head of State is very unfortunate.
He said the APC party wants peace and tranquility and that is the reason the Tripartite has come into being.
Ambassador Yansaneh further said that the APC has earlier stated that while the tripartite investigations are ongoing, the ECSL Commissioner Mohamed Konneh and all his Commissioners should step aside.
“Konneh and his team have no business doing there,” he said.
