Dr Ibrahim Bangura has recently been earmarked for the flagbearer position of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party by many quarters, describing him as a proud and committed member of the party who is driven by a vision of progress, unity, and prosperity for Sierra Leone.
In a snap interview with this press, some grass supporters hail Dr Ibrahim Bangura, stressing that he is the best choice for the APC flagbearer position owing to his track record of leadership and service; as according to them, he has dedicated his life to serving the party and nation, especially in academia, with integrity, hard work, and a deep commitment to the country’s shared values.
One Jophlyn Mac-Thompson stated that whether in public service, business, or grassroots mobilization, Dr Ibrahim Bangura has demonstrated the leadership needed to build a stronger, more inclusive future for all. Dr Ibrahim Bangura, he went on, has a clear vision for the country; pointing out that the 2028 general elections are not just about winning power; but about transforming lives; as such, his leadership will focus on economic empowerment, thereby creating sustainable jobs and opportunities for youths and women.
One Mohamed Kamara who also spoke to this press waxed lyrical about Dr Ibrahim Bangura, pointing out that his leadership will ensure access to quality education and healthcare for all citizens, and will also expand roads, energy, and digital connectivity to drive national growth while strengthening institutions, fighting corruption, and ensuring accountability.
Another staunch supporter of the APC, Edith Massaquoi, noted that the main opposition needs a candidate who can unite the ranks, energize supporters, and galvanize support to attract new voters and Dr Ibrahim Bangura is that candidate. She furthered that Dr Ibrahim Bangura has the vision, and the strategy to secure victory in 2028 and deliver on his promises to the people. She therefore calls on delegates to vote for a leader who is ready to work, ready to win, and ready to transform Sierra Leone. She reiterated that together, Dr Ibrahim Bangura can build a future where every citizen thrives as he is ready to serve, ready to lead, and ready to win.

Dr Ibrahim Bangura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History; and a Master in Gender Studies from Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone (USL); a Master in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam; and a Doctorate in Economics, from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Germany.
