The trust in the New Direction Government of President Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio in its drugs Control fight is eroding the Confidence and trust in his Establishment by the People of Sierra Leone.

At the moment, Our Country’s image and reputation has been tarnished internationally due to the failure of the New Direction Establishment to bring Order in the Proliferation of drugs in the Country as Our Country is now becoming a major transit hub for drugs smugglers, as well as those dealing with the Cross – border illicit trade.

Is the Establishment lost Control over the drugs Control in the Country? The drugs abuse by youths in the Country is one of the most horrific Crime abuse in the Country, and has brought the Scandal into the Public Consciousness by eroding the trust in our Politicians as well as the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) government.

These drugs scandal is a deepening internal Crisis that the People of Sierra Leone have lost hope and trust in the Bio’s establishment way of handling the drugs Control in the Country. It seems as if the New Direction Establishment is unable to address the public concerns over the drugs Control and with no mechanisms put in place.

Is President Bio really paying attention to what’s happening in the Country’s drug Proliferation? The use of the drug ” KUSH ” is menacing the Country with an unprecedented rate. The New Direction Establishment needs to prepare for a battle against ” KUSH “, a battle they have  to fight by any means necessary, even to the very end just to save the lives of our youths and the reputation of our Country.

The horrible destruction these drugs do to our youths pertains not just to a failure of Policy by the government, but a total failure of humanity with a terrifying neglected reality. Indeed the Bio administration is running out of time to fight the drugs war in Sierra Leone with no sight to mitigate the misery.

The ” KUSH” Story in Sierra Leone is in the increase with no Clarity only Obscure and a murky Chaos enveloping the lives of our youths with a symptom of a Collective failure of the establishment and the people of Sierra Leone.

The New Direction Establishment should do something towards the ” KUSH”  drugs in Sierra Leone as the headlines on drugs trafficking hub will not go away without a reputational damage to his establishment and the Country as a whole. The whole ” KUSH ” Saga in Sierra Leone has now become an Operational and Propagandistic business with an Occuring form of Organised Crime.

Indeed the failure of the Establishment to go hard on drugs fight contributed to the rise of the unthinking product of “KUSH ” due to limited government attention to the fight against ” KUSH “. As a responsible government they should believe that, to reduce Crime and Violence in the Country it is vital to understand the root causes and risk factors in the fight against drugs.

The Country is now in a total grip of Shambles as Corruption and weak enforcement has contributed to the Proliferation of drugs in Sierra Leone. Despite the frivolous Policy promises and Policing, the fight against drugs remains a Policy misteps to a deeper systemic Problems in Sierra Leone.

The big Question now, Is the establishment failure to fight the drugs war is lack of interest or lack of Policy Strategy?

Sierra Leone as it is today, is time for the Bio establishment to shift the narrative from his war on drugs to a Comprehensive, humane, and effective Public health response. Only then can the government be hopeful to make a positive progress in addressing one of the most horrible Social Challenges in the history of our Country.

The truth about the drugs deal in Sierra Leone is disheartening to see the slow response from the government. But where there is moral ugliness we need to poke it in whatever form with less regards to the networks of power forming around the drugs syndicate in the Country.

Although the drugs syndicate in Sierra Leone is a dream for some, while a nightmare for others with an unseemly battle being waged to win the favour of those with the greater power. But yet the drugs dealers and busybodies are keeping the Country as a drug – hub with a tarnished reputation.

President Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio should pose a resilient threat to the drugs deal in Sierra Leone. He should not let our Country’s Customary way of living to be destroyed by the new “Quick Money” means.

To save the reputation of our Country, drugs fight in Sierra Leone should be a priority for the government and the people of Sierra Leone. We should all work towards a future free drugs in Sierra Leone. We should be part of this Change to make Sierra Leone a better place to be proud of and live in.
