Bra Parrot is seriously frustrated over the inadequacy of electricity supply in the capital city, Freetown for months now.
The National Power Authority (NPA) now Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) undoubtedly have disappointed the people who thought it was and still a better alternative to NPA.
Even though people continue to buy credit (top up) on a daily basis, they’re unfortunately not getting the expected service.
After thorough investigation to know the reason (s) for these frequent power-cut, the brave bird, has discovered with dismay that certain people within the system are responsible for this ungodly act.
The concerned bird can authoritatively say without hesitation that, some senior and junior workers at the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) especially those on the ground calling themselves field workers are mostly responsible for the frequent blackout in the city and its environs by illegally connecting homes and some business entities on a daily basis at their own greedy advantage.
Some of these workers, according to what the brave bird has gathered are receiving huge sums of money (ies) from Lebanese and other rich business people to be connected illegally and get light at all cost and all time at the detriment of other people and the state.
The saddest thing is that, at the end of every month according to information, these criminals apart from the colossal sums of money they’re illegally collecting from their criminal business partners, they are also shamelessly receiving salaries from the government.
The wise and patriotic bird has also noticed that these so-called field workers are collaborating with armed men to steal meters from residents at night.
The patriotic bird has also realised that EDSA workers at Falcon Bridge and Kingtom power house are deeply involved in the many clandestine deals at the detriment of the government and the people.
Whenever one call at Falcon Bridge or Kingtom to inform them about a particular case or number of days, weeks or months they’ve gone without light all they will say is that, an electric cable has got damaged in your area.
Bra Parrot is therefore wishing to inform the concerned authorities that if they drag feet on this burning issue affecting majority of the people, the government will be blamed at the end as they always do.
My perfect advice to you Mr. Minister, you need to act tough now if only you want to avoid embarrassment and to redeem your good image.
A word for a wise is quite sufficient.
