Alimamy Sesay, 50,  an assistant captain at PM ferry  was sent on a remand by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2.

He was arraigned on Thursday 4th April 2024  for the alleged murder of one Osman Sesay.

The accused made his first appearance in court and was charged with one count of murder contrary to section 1 of the offences against the persons Act 1861 as repealed and replace by section 1(a) of the schedule of the abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2021, Act No 6 of 2022.

According to the particulars of offense, the accused Alimamy Sesay on Wednesday 10th January 2024, at Shipyard, Kaninkay, Freetown, murdered one Osman Sesay.

When the charge was read, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on his behalf.

The police prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Wilson F M informed the court that her witness were present but could not proceed in the circumstance and therefore requested an adjournment.

Magistrate Bangura however remanded the accused in prison and  adjourned the matter  to Monday 8th April 2024 for further hearing.
