Trust me; the Parrot is gradually getting frustrated over the protracted ‘sonkor sonkor’ in the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC) party.
This situation has not only fragmented the once vibrant party but has made it to completely deviate from its responsibility to put the government on its toes for the development of the country in general.
And until they come to their senses to work in unity, history is sure to repeat itself come 2028 when they will again shift their misfortune to others.
The party has not yet realized that time is of essence, its hierarchy has instead embark on tearing each other because all of them want to become flag bearer which is farfetched.
The latest disturbing information reaching the bird is that, the former Freetown City Council Mayor Bode Gibson is allegedly putting documents together to drag the current national APC party Executive to the Supreme Court.
According to the information, the former Mayor has decided to take the legal action for alleged interpretation of the legality of the National Executive claiming that they were never Gazetted as provided for by law.
It’s alleged that these national officers were not gazetted since the National Delegates’ Conference in Makeni in 2022.
Given that the wise bird doesn’t believe in one side information, he tried relentlessly to get on to the former Mayor to cross check with him but all his efforts proved futile.
However, if the allegation is proved to be true that, the National APC Executive were not Gazetted after the Makeni Convention, it will be a big blow to them and the party in general because it is likely that the court will pass an injunction restricting the current executive to continue in office thus interim executive will continue with party activities or may even likely take the party to next delegates’ convention next year.
As usual the wise bird went out to get the views of both supporters and none-supporters on the issue.
Majority of those he spoke with expressed frustration over what they referred to as the sad news, stressing that the APC is one of the biggest political parties in the country and therefore much is expected of them.
The aggrieved supporters insisted that if the law provides that, political parties’ Executives are to be gazetted then, the All People’s Congress (APC) party is no exemption, that they must follow all required procedures.
They went further to say that, if the National Executive of the party is not Gazetted as per law, it means that Executive is not legal according to law.
However, for the bird to be on the safer side, he will continue to treat the report as allegations until otherwise proved to be true.
The bird will continue to monitor the situation closely as it unfolds and furnish fellow citizens accordingly.
