Alhaji Mohamed Kamara who is an ex-military personnel made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court no.2 for alledgely making inciting statements to undermine the peace and security of Sierra Leone.
Accused Kamara was arraigned before the court on a count charge of incitement contrary to law.
The indictment state that accused Kamara on Saturday 19 October, 2024 in Freetown, did make inciting statements with intent to undermine the peace and security of Sierra Leone.
The indictment further that accused Kamara further stated that Maada Bio led government had killed majority of those that were arrested and detained at the Correctional Center in Freetown during the August 10, 2023 protest and also that president Bio did not win the June 24 2023 presidential election.
Adding that wether he (the president) handover power or not they will have to overthrow him.
After the charges were read and explained to the accused but he pleaded not guilty of the offenses.
The police prosecutor Detective Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh sought for an adjournment, saying the witnesses were absent in court.
The accused was unrepresented in court and so no bail application was made on his behalf.
He was remanded in custody until 19th November 2024 for another hearing.
