Blessing Victoria Cole, student of the Fourah Bay College on Wednesday 26th November, 2025 testified before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1, against two accused who she alleged, stole her iPhone valued at fifteen thousand new leones.
The accused persons Alimamy Sinneh and Alimamy Gbamkey were arraigned before the court on two counts charge of conspiracy contrary to law and robbery with aggravation contrary to section 23(1) of the Larceny Act 1916 as repealed and replaced by section 2 of Act No. 16 of 1971.
The charge sheet indicated that the accused on Sunday 23rd February, 2025, at the Freetown Golf Club, Lumley Beach in Freetown, conspired together to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation.
The charge sheet further that the accused on the above date and place being armed with cutlass robbed Blessing Cole one iPhone 11 Promax valued fifteen thousand new leones (15,000) and at the same time immediately used personal violence on her.
In her testimony, witness Cole recognized the accused in the dock and recalled Sunday 23rd February, 2025.
She added that on the said day, she went out with her friends to play basketball and upon her return; she used the beach road axis to go home.
She further that upon her arrival at the Freetown Golf Club she had a call on her phone and whiles trying to pick the call, she felt someone snatched her phone from her and when she looked it was the first accused Alimamy Sinnah
The witness said she then dragged the person and they both fell down on the floor started to wrestle, adding that while they were struggling, the second accused Alimamy Gbamkey came to the scene and picked up the phone and crossed over to the other side of the road and ran away.
She said she continued to resettle with the first accused and he took cutlass to threaten her but she did not give up and at that point people came to the scene and the first accused jumped to the other side of the road and ran into the water.
She said the men who went to help her followed him inside the water and got hold of him.
The witness furthered that after his arrest she made a report at the Police post at Golf Club and she made statements to the police.
The witness added that she was issued a police medical report form for treatment and examination and she later returned with the endorsed medical report to the police.
The medical report was produced in court for identification and was identified as Z.
She said the matter was later transferred to the Lumley police station.
At this juncture, the Prosecutor CSP Bull sought for a short date for the phone to be identified before the court.
The accused were remanded in custody until 2nd April, 2025 for continuation.
