Sana Seidia and Samba Balde both Portuguese national made their first appearances before Magistrate Shar Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown.
The suspects were held on four count possession and transportation of a prohibited drug without lawful authority to doing so and this is contrary to section 8 a of the National Drug Control Act 2008.
State counsel I.A.Kamara led in witness No.1 Dectetive police officer 13716 Joseph Steven’s attached at the transnational organized crime unit (TOCU) as an forensic analyst, his role are to analyst drugs and other chemical.
He did recounted on the 30th September, 2024, when D inspector Steven Alpha Turay attached at transnational organized crime unit (TOCU)submitted a laboratory request form and two separate sample.
Eight compressed percels of cocaine each separately allegedly seized from both the accused persons weight 8.9kg.
He also conducted a presumptive analysis on both samples in front of both accused persona, and collected loose quantity of cocaine from the exhibit Clark and conducted chemical microscopic crystal examination. At the end of the examination,it was identified that both samples A&B were positive of cocaine Hydrochloride.
Both analyses were reduced into reports which he signed and dated 4/10/24,, which have been in police custody which was tendered in court to form part of the court records.
According to the particulars of offense on count one and two,Sana Seidi on the the 29th September,2024, at the Freetown international airport lungi,was found in possession transporting eight (8) compressed percels of cocaine without lawful authority.
Count three and four the second accused Samba Blade on the the above date and place was found in possession transporting eight (8) compressed percels of cocaine without lawful authority.
When the charges was read to them no plea taken.
Meanwhile magistrate kekura refuse bail and ordered their remand at the male correctional center.
The matter is adjourned 2nd April, 2025.
