Mabinty Turay who is a business woman and Jonathan John who is a technician had both made another appearances before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown.
They were to be probed on three count charges by causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm as contrary to section 47 of the offences against the persons Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 1st March 2025 at #6 Crooked Lane in Freetown caused grevious bodily harm to Salaymatu Bangura with intent to do her grevious bodily harm.
On count two and three the accused person maliciously wounded and assaulted Salaymatu Bangura in a manner thereby occaisioning her actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons andno plea taken.
Sergeant 8811 Florence M Wilson was the led prosecution witness number one.
Salaymatu Bangura said she recognized both accused persons as close door neighbours.
Se recalled on the 1st March 2025 of something that transferred between herself and the accused persons.
She said she was in her room when she had the first accused playing very loud music. And that the first accused came to her apartment but she tried to get out of the gate and pushed her.
But she entered again and she pushed her again she tried to pick her mobile phone which fell by the time she was trying to pick it.
She complained that she felt a sharp slap on her face of which she experienced a temporary “mind black out”.
She dropped the first accused and hit her on her stomach she felt badly.
The second accused also came and joined and kicked her on her stomach and she fell pain on her stomach. Upon being treated so, she went to Ross Road Police Station and reported the matter.
She reported that she was bleeding and by then the police took a snapshot of her stomach using his mobile phone and issued police medical request form.
She went to Cannaught hospital and was examined and treated and was given a medical form included in the report police.
She later showed pictures he took with his phone and were shown in court for identification.
She did a scan at the Cannaught hospital and the result of the scan was produced for identification.
She later made statement to the police and the accused was represented by A.Samba Esq.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura granted bail to both accused persons in the sum of one hundred thousand Leones each with two sureties in like sum sureties must be residents in Freetown who must produce valid identity cards depicting their address to be Freetown.
Bail terms were to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar and the matter was adjourned to 3rd April 2025.
