Alimamy Sinneh, a businessman, and Alimamy Gbamkey alias” White Boy appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 Freetown, on two count charges of conspiracy contrary to law and robbery with aggravation contrary to section 23(1) of the Larceny Act 1916 as repealed and replaced by section 2 of Act No.16 of 1971.
According to the particulars of offense, on Sunday 23rd February, 2025, at Golf Club, Lumley Beach Road in Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation.
Count two, on the above date and place, being armed with cutlass robbed Blessing Cole of one iPhone 11 Promax phone valued fifteen thousand new leones (15,000) at the same time immediately before or immediately after used personal violence on the said Blessing Cole.
When the charges were read and explained to them, no plea was taken.
Police Prosecutor Inspector M.K Taylor associate by state counsel Juan Bull Esq. led in witness No.1 Blessing A.V Cole, student at the Fourah Bay College. During her last testimony, she testified knowing the accused persons in the dock on this matter, and recounted on 23rd February, 2025, herself together with her friends went to Sport Zoon to play basketball about 19:30 in the evening.
She told the court that they left Sport Zoon going to Lumley in order to onboard transport to go home when she was attacked by the accused trying to rob her phone. The said phone was produced and tendered in court for identification.
During yesterday’s hearing, she was Cross examined by the defense counsel M.K Dauda to prove that his clients were innocent of the said allegations made against them.
However, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and remanded both accused at the male correctional center in Freetown; the case was adjourned to April, 2025.
