Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah on Tuesday 10 June, 2025 sent Tamba Johnny Walker at the High Court for further trial after obtaining over two hundred thousand new leones from the complainant Alie Neama Conteh that he has four town lot of land for sale at Regent.
Walker was arraigned before the court on two count charges of conspiracy contrary to law and obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 21(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The indictment states that accused Walker on 6 June, 2023 at Regent in Freetown, conspired with other persons unknown to commit a crime.
The indictment furthered that the accused Walker on the same day and place, obtained the sum of two hundred and forty thousand new leones from the complainant Alie Neama Conteh by falsely pretending that he has four town lot of land for sale knowing same to be false.
Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah before committal said that the Prosecutor Sergeant 8975 Ibrahim Saspo Bangura lead two witnesses to prove their case and the testimonies of the witnesses corroborated.
He said the prosecution had led sufficient evidence before the court to warrant accused Walker to stand trial at the high Court.
Accused Walker was asked by the Magistrate if he would like to change his statement made to the police but replied in the negative and furthered that he would like to testify before the court and call witnesses.
He was granted bail which should be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
