Wonders never end in this small kingdom, as the wise bird is always receiving disturbing news about reputable institutions.
As and when the bird gets the news he will give it out to the people to know what is going on in this our small kingdom.
Many a time, the news put the nation’s reputation and or its integrity and credibility at stake in the international world.
Elderly people used to say, message can only be credible when its carrier is credible, that is to say it will have the esteem weight as expected.
This time the message the bird received came from no less a person than a senior member of the main opposition (APC) party Hon. Abdul Karim Koroma who levied serious allegation that there are twenty-five (25) ghost Consultants in the Honorable House of Parliament.
Hon. Abdul Karim Koroma said while poor and ordinary people continued to struggle with hardship in the country, the government continues to use millions and millions of taxpayers’ monies on what he called dubious consultancy contracts that yield no fruitful benefit to the people and by extension nation.
Hon. Koroma referred to the consultants as so-called because he said they are just political loyalists yet, they receive monthly salaries at the expense of the ordinary people.
He said such situation is not about politics but largely about the future of the country the lawmaker, pointed out.
He said they cannot continue to be in Parliament and allow corruption and mismanagement of public funds at the detriment of the nation and its people.
“This is the time for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to come in to ensure that, those responsible are brought to book and to properly account for public funds,” he stressed.
The bird sounded the views of public officers and most of them expressed dismay over the news saying that if the allegation is anything to go by, then, it is disappointing for the Parliament where laws are made to be part of such dubious syndicate.
The bird is waiting to see what the ACC will do in that direction.
