Lamin Bangura, a twenty years old and a cleaner at the Targrin Quarry Lungi, was arraigned before magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on Tuesday, 28th January, 2025.
He was held for count charge of Larceny at a Dwelling House which is contrary to section 13 (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particular of offence, on Friday 18th October, 2024, at No 33 Beryamin Lane in Freetown, he entered the dwelling house of Pawel Andizej Kusmierzak who is a Polish National living at above address.
He stole therein the sum of fifteen thousand united state dollars ($15,000) equivalent to three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Leones (360,000), and two and Half kilogram of gold valued one Hundred and eight seven thousand united state dollars ($187,000) equivalent to four million four hundred and eighty eight leones ( Nle 4,488,000.00) all to the total value of four million eight hundred and forty eight thousand leones (4,848,000.00). All are owned by Pawel Andizej Kusmierzak.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.
Prosecutor 18235 Thoronka K.K sought for short adjournment date to have a proper interrogation with his witnesses.
The accused was legally represented by C.Kamara Esq who renewed his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused person.
Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura granted the accused bail in the sum 1,000,000.00 with two sureties who must be responsible citizens and are residents of Freetown.
Bail is to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar. While the matter was adjourned to the 13th of February, 2025, for a continuation of suspect’s trial.
