The Wise Bird is moving the length and breadth of the country to get firsthand information on issues of national interest.

The bird flew all the way to Kenema and upon arrival there; it was greeted with a lot of news relating to corruption, lawlessness, and lack of electricity in the township and heard of a vacant position in the Kenema District Council.

According to the information the bird got was that, three strong men in the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) are at each other’s throat in respect of a vacant position in the Council.

What the bird got from the people was that, the three aspirants for the position are: Mr. Anthony Fonnie, Mr. Ibrahim Agbo Wurrie and Mr. John Stevens Gobo all belonged to the SLPP.

The bird was told that, Mr. Mohamed Amadu Sesay who was the Chairperson died and his deputy is presently hospitalized.

As the bird was moving from place to place, it overheard people saying the political infighting in Kenema for the position is not a novelty as party members who are supposed to be advocating for the development of the council and district are at each other’s throat.

The bird noticed that, the three aspirants have already created political camps, to create more tension within the Kenema Township.

The Wise Bird was told that, on the 3rd September 2024 ECSL informed the general public about the vacant position at the Kenema District Council, according to the people a letter was received from the Chief Administration.

The letter was to notify the Commission about the vacant position in the Kenema District Council for the Chairman.

The bird also overheard the people saying that, this is just the beginning of the show; the 2028 elections will be the worst in the history of the SLPP.

The bird was reliably informed that, up to date there is no official statement from the Regional executive of the party.

The most respected animal was also informed that, very senior members in the SLPP are supporting a particular candidate, which is more the reason there is more tension in Kenema.
