The Members of the opposition in the House of Parliament have demanded the resignation of the Clerk of parliament, Hon Umarr Paran Tarawally.
Making his submissions in the Well of parliament, the leader of the opposition, Hon Abdul Kargbo informed the house that as an opposition MPs they are demanding the resignation of the Clerk of parliament based on the fact that he has declared for Secretary General of the SLPP.
He made the disclosure on Tuesday 12th May 2025 in the Well of parliament.
He said the Clerk of parliament has also make sarcastic comments against the opposition, stating that the opposition does no longer have any confidence in the Clerk of parliament.
Hon Kargbo said if the Clerk failed to resign as the APC MPs would take political action on the issue.
He said as opposition they had written a letter copied the Speaker demanding the resignation of the Clerk of parliament, Hon Umar Tarawally.
Making his reaction on the assertion made by the opposition leader, the Leader of government business in parliament, Hon Sahr Matthew Nyuma said the opposition should work in line with the Bo declaration where all the MPs agreed to work in spirit of oneness.
He said as government bench they believe in dialogue and perfect engagement to avert any situation that may affect the spirit of peace in the house.
In order to avert such situations from arising, the Speaker of Parliament, Hon Segepoh Solomon Thomas, has invited both the leadership of the opposition and government bench to an emergency meeting which seeks to address the issue immediately.
