For involving into gay activities, Police Declares Ibrahim Mansaray wanted
The Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, has on Wednesday January 7th 2024 engaged a high-powered delegation from ECOWAS being headed up by Brigadier General Mactar Diop.
The purpose of the visit was to know the status of the internal security in Sierra Leone.
The nine-man delegation interacted with authorities in the security sector and other stakeholders for the establishment of administrative and logistics needs for the deployment of ECOWAS mission in the country.
It could be recalled that the 64th Ordinary Session of the Authority of the Heads of State and Governments held on December 10th 2023 in Abuja directed the ECOWAS Commission to facilitate the deployment of ECOWAS’ mission in Sierra Leone, following Sunday’s November 26th attempted coup in the nation.
The ECOWAS Commission was mandated to conduct a preliminary reconnaissance mission to the country from February 4th to 10th 2024 in order to get first-hand information and to do an assessment of the general security situation in Sierra Leone.
The Inspector General of Police explained the present security situation in the country and informed others how they are working closely with their sister forces in the maintenance of law and order in the region.
Other members of the delegation include: Brig Gen Omubo Doniboye, Col Attoumgbre Joseph Kouame, Col Ibrahim Alhassan Mohamed, Col Claude D Jehoungo, Col Richard Balima, Lieutenant Col Seedy Joof, ACP Hamidu Nuhu and Mr. Bekaye Coulibaly.
