The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) on Sunday 19th 2025 held its 22nd Annual Christian Thanksgiving Service at the St. Anthony’s Parish Church on Savage Street, Freetown.
Even though the Wise Bird was not invited to the service, he navigated his way into the church as the bird loves to worship in a group of any other religious doctrine.
The “THEME” for the service was “MOVING INTO THE INFORMAL SECTOR” at the service; and so very important personalities including NASSIT staff attended the thanksgiving service.
The brave bird overheard the Director-General of NASSIT; Mohamed Fuad Daboh was expressing profound gratitude to all his colleagues for their dedication and by extension the general public for their co-operation.
He went on to say that, the scheme is a defined benefit where members (workers) contribute during their working days and benefits for their old age before death meets them.
NASSIT, he said, is committed to serving the people of Sierra Leone and that; it was not just a religious service it is also supporting the Organization in whatever way.
The Director-General also reiterated on the significance of establishing the scheme for the informal sector which will cover traders, bike-riders, commercial drivers, mechanics to name but a few.
He appreciated the leadership of the Church for hosting this year’s Thanksgiving service with a cash donation with some assorted food items.
Rev. Father John Tucker in his sermon said among things that, NASSIT is here to stay, thanks to God for His direction of the leadership in managing the scheme.
He also prayed for success to enable NASSIT to serve the people of the country. He offered special prayers and blessings to all NASSIT staff.
The most respected bird was never noticed during the service in the church, and in the next thanksgiving service if the bird is not officially invited, he will not attend that service because he may be unable to report any worthy news accordingly to the people.
