After playing 27 games with 12 loss, 5 wins and 9 draws as Head Coach of the Sierra Leone national male team since he assumed office. The 52- years-old led Leone Stars for the first time in 26 years and qualified the nation to AFCON tournament 2022 in Cameroon despite failing to produce satisfactory results in many occasion against great footballing nation like Algeria and Ivory Coast.
During the last AFCON tournament, though he was able to produce few quality footballers that were able to put smiles on Sierra Leoneans. Overall, Kiester contract ends with the national team in July 1, 2023. Football fans are seeking for an outstanding coach in the upcoming campaign due to the not-too encouraging performance of Kiester this time. However, numerous questions from sport lovers are if Coach Kiester’s contract will be renewed or the country to get a new man on the touch line for another five years. An inside source at Sports ministry has disclosed to Africa24 that local coaches are eyeing the job especially close friends and former teammates of Kiester at home and aboard.
