Claudius Freeman a Pastor and Headman of Oba Funkia Community, Jonathan Dixon, Fatu Freeman and Francis Freeman Janko made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown in relation to private criminal sermons and he was held for eight counts charges to wit Trespass, Larceny, Assault occasioning actual bodily harm, malicious damage, throwing of missiles, threatening language, abusive language.
According to the particulars of offence on the 15th April 2024 at Goodrich in Western urban area in Freetown, an accused unlawfully did a trespass into the compound/Church edifice of the complainant Bishop David Chambers after having been forbidden not to do so.
And on count two statement further states that on the same date and place the accused persons stole from the said complainant herein seven thousand five hundred United States dollars, a wrist watch valued three thousand United States dollars and property to a total value of ten thousand five hundred United States dollars.
Counts three further states that on the same date and place the accused persons assaulted the said complainant herein in a manner thereby occasioned an actual bodily harm to a female.
Counts four further stated that the accused person on the same date and place maliciously damaged Church windows valued at twenty thousand Leones Property of the said complainant herein valued at exceeding 5 pounds.
On count five the accused persons further stated that, on the same date and place, the accused persons on the above date and place thrown missiles at the property/Church edifice of the complainant herein.
Count six further alleged that, on the same date and place, the accused persons did make use of threatening language against the complainant with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.
Count seven further alleged that on the same date and place the accused persons did make use of Abusive language against the complainant herein with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.
Count eight further stated that the accused persons, on the above date and place, did make insulting language against the said complainant meant to provoke him to commit a breach of peace.
When the matter was mentioned, the second accused person was absent in court and a bench warrant was issued against the absent defendant.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura adjourned the matter to 28th May 2024 and the defendants were given bail.
