Sierra Leone’s Crystal Palace winger, Sullay Kaikai, has won the club’s Development Player of the Year Award for the first time in the history of his career.
The winger was handed the trophy at the club’s Awards Night at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon last night, capping a fine season for the 19-year-old who made huge impact on his first-team debut for the Eagles back in September.
The player scored a last minute equaliser against Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup.
He was also featured 10 times for the Eagles’ under-21 side, and he finished the season top of the table in the U21 Professional Development League 2 South. He had had a successful stint on loan at League Two side Cambridge United where he netted six goals in 30 outings for the U’s.
The award completes a good week for Kaikai who also received Cambridge’s Young Player of the Year prize last week, and he also walked away from the night with the Vice Presidents Young Player of the Year Award who selected him as their outstanding youngster from the season.
