Madiana Fayia, a business woman, has made her first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown.
She was held for several court charges.
Three count charges are proved her to have withheld unlawful possession of Kush as contrary to section 8 (a) of The National Drugs Control Act No.10 of 2008.
For selling prohibited drugs as contrary to section 7 (c) of the National Drugs Control Act 2008 Act and that she offers for sale a prohibited drugs contrary as to section 7 (c) of the National Drug Act 2008 Act of No.10 of 2008.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, no plea taken.
According to the particulars of offence, on Friday 12th April 2024, at Vincent drive Malama Lumley, in Freetown, she was found in possession of one hundred and ten (110) wraps of kush weighing 40.5 grams without lawful authority.
On count two the accused person on the above date and place was found selling some prohibited drugs without lawful authority.
Count four further alleged that on the above date and place the accused person was offering smokers prohibited drugs without lawful authority.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, no plea taken again.
The witness was absent in court and the prosecutor sought for a short adjournment date.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura had refused her bail and sent the accused person to the female correctional facility in Freetown.
And based on the nature of the offence, the matter was adjourned to the 11th June 2024.
