In a bid to fully incorporate soccer fans and football pundits in Kaffu-Bullom in Lungi, the only Premier League team in the Chiefdom, formally Lamboi Football Club has officially changed its name from Lamboi FC.
Bullom Stars are based in Lunging, in the Northwest Region.
The re-naming of the club marks a new era for the the team and the people of Lungi.
This transformation follows months of considerations between the club’s owners, Augustine Lamboi, and key stakeholders within the Lungi and Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom.
Meanwhile, the rebranding is not merely cosmetic but represents a significant shift in the club’s identity and its relationship with the local community.
Augustine Lamboi, the Chief Executive Officer CEO and a proud son of the soil, has taken this bold step as a way of giving back to his birthplace.
“The constant support by the people of Kaffu Bullom has been the backbone of this team, adding that the acknowledge and loyalty by ensuring great move of the club,” CEO speaks.
Recognizing the passionate support the community has provided over the years, CEO Augustine Lamboi, has decided to entrust the team to the people of Kaffu Bullom.
The move symbolizes a commitment to local empowerment and sportsmanship, as all necessary engagements have been done to formalize the changing of club’s name with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) regardless of the challenges.
“As we gear up for the upcoming season, we are thrilled to announce that Bullom Stars Football Club will be competing under its new name. The Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom being the hub for football in the Northwest region is immensely grateful to CEO Augustine Lamboi for his generous gesture, which will be etched in the annals of our local history.”
“Together, as a united community, we pledge to do everything possible to support Bullom Stars Football Club and will enhance the competitive spirit of the game. We look forward to an exciting new chapter in our football journey,” he said.
In his reaction Honorable, PCMP Bai Shebora Sheba Gbereh lll said people across the Lungi Municipality expressed excitement over what they believe such is a remarkable development in the Chiefdom. Paramount Chief Sheba reiterated the community support to the team.
“We believe in youth football, Lungi is the home for credible soccer play. The Chiefdom has produced grate players both at national and international level, and football is a pathway to nation building.
“We are calling on all football lovers to join this wonderful team,” he said.
