The Wise Bird became very much uncomfortable, unhappy and also restless when he got the news that, a journalist was physically assaulted by a police officer in Kenema.

As the Wise Bird is very intelligent and mature in thinking, talking and every other thing the bird intends to do either directly or indirectly so that he might not fall foul of the law.

That is more the reason the Wise Bird will not just put pen on paper on an issue or allegation he got from the public, without proper investigations.

According to what the bird got from Kenema is that, a journalist by the name of MUNYA BAWOH of All Out Radio, 90.1FM was beaten by a police officer as he was investigating a human right story at the police station.

The allegation was that, during the process of discussion, the crime officer accused the journalist of recording what was being discussed in the police station that did not go down well with the crime officer as he became very much aggressive, rude and physically assaulted the journalist. It is no secret that these days senior police officers are ruthless so much that, they have no respect for their own institution and authorities in that institution.

What angered the Wise Bird most is the nomenclature of the police (CRIME OFFIER) who ought to know better, and has the authority to interpret the law to the letter but have misbehaved to the dismay of the general public by way of beating a states-man.

Let think for a moment that the journalist was just doing a recording, must that give them warrant for the journalist to be beaten?

Some police officers these days have become so much lawless that, even their superiors cannot control them.

What makes the Wise Bird to become happy is or rather was the steps the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) took on behalf of the journalist in question, bravo SLAJ.

The Wise Bird will continue to say that, the police of yester-years are not the police Sierra Leone is having today.

Because of the lawlessness in the police today, the Wise Bird of late has noticed that, most of the police officers have not been displaying their police identification numbers, which in itself is an offence on the side of the police.

In fact assault on anybody apart from a journalist is an offence punishable by law, the police know that, but why doing  the reverse?

In order to get more, the Wise Bird flew all the way to Kenema city to sound the views of people, in respect of the behavior of the police force in Kenema, all those the bird spoke with expressed dissatisfaction over their behavior, some people went further to say that, the police behavior is nothing to write home about in the township of Kenema.

However, the bird did not go to Kenema to have discussions with the victim but to get the views of people in the township.
