Residents of Charlotte community have accused Hon. Adama Conteh of land grabbing.

But she has strongly denied this allegation. The residents of the portion of land complained of having suffered a lot due to the nefarious behaviour of the lawmaker.

She was accused of ordering lands ministry and military officials of taking bulldozers and surveyors to plough the land claimed to be owned by these community people.

The community stakeholders said they have been subjected to serious incarcerations for mounting on pressure on preventing land grabbers.

The opposition MP hails from Kamalo in Karene district but she’s said to have claimed to be born at Charlotte community.

The people also accuse the headman of the village of conniving with Hon. Adam Conteh and officials of the land ministry to have sold of their land.

They said the green belt area, or prohibited areas for house building, have been encroached by influential personalities on the orders of government authorities.

“We are also now seeing some Lands Ministry’s officials entering the green belt area. They also want to plot the land for sale.”

The community said they cannot fight the ministry and so they rely on the intervention of President Maada Bio to come to their aid to salvage their situation before it escalates.

Hon Adama is said to have quantum of land in her credit.

In her response few months ago to journalists, she said all the allegations pelted at her by the community are baseless and false.

“I was contacted by the Ministry of Lands to show the access roads left in the land after the surveyors had plotted the land,” Hon. Adama told journalists.

She said she is not an indigene of Charlotte and she cannot sell a land that does not belong to her despite the people claim she is born there.

She however called on those engaging in a smearing campaign to desist from doing so.
