Twenty-five years old Mohamed Rashid Koroma made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count charge of larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Monday 2nd October, 2023 at #1 Mount Blue Close Leicester village in the Mountain Rural District in the western area in Freetown did steal one Apple grey and white apple Ipad, packet door locks, carpentry tools and other assorted items equivalent to the total sum of thirty seven thousand leones (Le37,000) property of Hassan Alfred Kargbo.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh told the Magistrate that fact as charged, no previous criminal records was against the accused person.
The accused was not legally represented as he pleaded with the Magistrate to tamper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person and he didn’t waste the court’s time and being a first time offender, Magistrate Bangura sentenced him to three years at the male correctional facility in Freetown.
