Forty-nine year old Samuel Lamin Koroma, a cleaner & security made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count charge to wit larceny by servant contrary to section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday 18th September 2025 at Pictures and Memories Investment Studio at #126 Circular Road in the western area in Freetown, being a clerk employed by the company stole therein one big cannon lens 70/200mm, two 256 memory cards, three 128 GB memory cards, one Duracell battery charging case, four cannon battery charging and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of five hundred and seventy five thousand and one leones (Le575,001) property of the said pictures and memories investment
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, no plea taken.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa lead Prosecution witness number one Sandra Beury for cross examination by A.B Marrah Esq. She recognized the defendant as a friend of her elder brother who had worked with the defendant for few months as he was the manager of the Studio opened by her elder brother Emerick who lives in the United States of America. The witness said she stopped working with the defendant in January 2024 as she was on maternity leave but the defendant was working with her elder brother. She added she was not as active as before because of her maternity leave when she was managing the office. She stated that the defendant never stole from her. The witness said the business was like a company she has the employment letter and she was the one who reported the defendant to the police in the absence of the CEO her elder brother. The witness said the company has laws she can represent the company in court as per the laws and there are CCTV cameras in the office the footage are with the police the camera in the office of the manager was switched off and that was where the theft took place whilst the other cameras in the other office were not switched off and it is the defendant who was in possession of the keys. The witness said it was the defendant who switched off the cameras the keys to the manager’s office as well as the key to the cupboard where the properties were stolen were all in the possession of the defendant. She said the cameras were being controlled by the defendant. She admitted however that she did not see the defendant with any of the stolen properties.
The defense counsel A.B Marrah renewed and adopted his previous bail applications.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail on the grounds that the offence are serious and sent the defendant to the male correctional facility in Freetown matter adjourned to 10th November 2025.
