Mercurybet, the prominent betting company in the country, has presented a glowing grand prize valued over 200 million Old Leones to fortunate winners of its online betting campaign podium across Sierra Leone.

The grand prize, a biannual climax of the online show, was claimed by Abu Fomba. 20-year-old, Abu, is an unemployed student and resident of Kono District, east of Sierra Leone.

He received a brand new (Keke) motorcycle, worth 80 million (old currency). He has expressed gratitude and thanks to the administration of Mercury for their outstanding performance and impact on youth over the years in Sierra Leone. The enormous prize was received by the yearning winners.

On Saturday 3th, August, 2024, the official handover ceremony of the items was held at New Sella Sport, Kingharman Road in Freetown.

Alhaji Komba, Head of Media at Mercury International, who also doubles as Master of Ceremonies (MC) at the event, extended his genuine admiration to Abu Famba and others on their unexpected win under Sierra Leone’s financial and economic difficulties at the moment.

During the ceremony, Komba pronounced on the multitude of prizes available with the online betting which include daily cash prizes for lucky winners, weekly cash prizes with million old Leones for winners, and a grand prize of million Leones.

According to the Operations Unit of Mercurybet, he said, to qualify for the online betting; participants are required to engage in specific activities.
