The desperate attempt by a serial conman Mohamed Bangura otherwise known as Mohamed Lifeboat is becoming unbearable. He has been in court since 2013 for fishing boats he has no idea how they came in country, nor can he buy even one. He is now laying false claims to the ownership of the boats for the simple reason that he was contacted by a Chinese Michael Wang who has been working at Sierra Fishing Company, to help register a fishing agency for a group of Chinese who had vessels and who wanted to fish on our territorial waters.
For a simple business card (complimentary card) a judge in the high court of Sierra Leone said that it established agency rights for Mohamed Lifeboat with the Chinese company, even though Lifeboat tried but failed to register the agency using Union Fishing Company which is owned by now late Thorlu Bangura. After failing to register the agency, and also not capable meeting the conditions for agency set by the Chinese, this smooth criminal resorted to blackmail the Chinese claiming they had an agency agreement with him. The failure by Lifeboat to register the vessels compelled the Chinese to contract a lady Abie Aruna who showed capacity by negotiating with Horse Fishing Company to use their facilities for landing of the fish catch. When Lifeboat got wind of this he sought an injunction in court blocking the operations of the agency on the false assumption of breach of contract. Because of the protracted nature of the court proceedings, the Chinese became frustrated and abrogated their contract with Abie Aruna, who later sued them for breach.
The Chinese contracted the services of Umaru Napoleon Koroma as their lawyer in the matter brought against them by Lifeboat in 2016. Umaru Napoleon Koroma brilliantly won the matter for them, which forced them to retain him now as their lawyer and ending the contract with their first lawyer firm. For some strange reason, a complimentary card was used as justification by a judge in the high court to ascertain that Lifeboat had an agency agreement with the Chinese company. Umaru Napoleon Koroma successfully challenged the high court ruling in the appeal court and the decision was overturned. Whilst this was going on, the Chinese Company signed an official agency agreement with Sabco Fishing Company that is a registered company with government of Sierra Leone.
Lifeboat again went to the Supreme Court, who for some bizarre reasons also agreed that an ordinary complimentary card was proof of agency agreement. However, the Supreme Court ruled that he should only be compensated as you cannot force a company to work with someone they don’t want to work with.
This Supreme Court judgment has also not met Lifeboat’s satisfaction, and now he has resorted to blackmail and intimidation. He is using some SLPP youth to create confusion, claiming that he owns the vessels and should be allowed to operate. The other day, he mobilised some SLPP youth to create pandemonium around the Law Courts Building, with some using invectives at the Chief Justice and Umaru Napoleon Koroma.
As strange as the Supreme Court ruling is, Mohamed Lifeboat has refused to accept it and now courting sympathy by blackmailing Umaru Napoleon Koroma. It is clear as crystal that he has no registered fishing agency and does not have capacity to operate fishing vessels. If he has any agency agreement with the Chinese Company let him show it to the public. The Supreme Court did not rule that he owns the vessels as he is claiming in a video put that he put out.
