The new head coach of Sierra Leone’s national male senior team, Mohamed Kallon, has expressed gratitude for the position conferred on him by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to serve his nation.
“I served as the team captain for many years, but this is the first time I am serving in this capacity, and I am over excited and it’s a honor for me to serve Sierra Leone with my backroom staff,” the former Inter Millan player proudly expressed.
Kallon stated that he has been in the country for two years now watching and observing the country’s Premier League and also follow most of the players, so it was easy for him to select those players, because they have done well as they put in their best show in the league, adding that it’s been far too long home-based players have been sidelined.
He also said that to build up a proper national team, one have to build a very good and solid foundation and that foundation has to be from the home.
He further stated that he still believes and trust the international players because of their level of exposure and experience.
